There are times when I get feedback from my clients, and it really feels great when someone says thank you or expresses their appreciation for my work. It gives me more drive to be better at what I do so that I can give better service to my clients. It may be terribly cliché, but the biggest room in the world is indeed the room for improvement.

So, I would like to share one of these letters to all of you for this week’s post, and I plan to post more of them from time to time. All are posted with the sender’s permission of course—but actual names have been changed to protect their privacy.

Dear Michel,

.

First off, I really would like to thank you for a job well done.

.

I appreciate it that you didn’t dawdle of try to impress me with professional sounding terms or flattery when I first came to you. You were most professional and got straight to the point. I noticed that you were methodical and precise in your questions, and I also appreciate your discreetness. I also liked the fact that you were confident in your fee and stood by it. For me, that meant that you were confident in your abilities as well, and wasn’t just out to make a buck. I’m sure you wouldn’t be surprised if I told you that I did shop around a while for a good private investigator, and to tell you the truth, the one I went to haggled around like they were selling fish at a wet market. A little negotiation is fine, but with the others, it got a little too cheap at me, like they were just looking to make a sale.

It was great that you were able to talk to some of the people I know without divulging too many details about my situation, and tried to protect my identity as much as possible. I know, because if you were sloppy, I know these people would be treating me differently now then they had then. So again, thank you for that.

.

It is also through your efforts that I was able to know that my girlfriend (now my ex) was cheating on me with another john. While that was quite painful for me, I still must thank you for saving me the time and the trouble of having to spend a lot before I knew the truth.

.

I would also like to assure you that I will be acquiring your services again soon, as there is this Thai woman that I am seeing now, who in the future might require some looking into before I commit to anything serious. I just read your new posts awhile ago, and I do agree that it always pays to know rather than live in a lie.

.

I know that there might be a few of your other clients out there who feel differently from me—after all, we can’t please everyone—but I am writing this to tell you that there are also other people out there, people like me, who truly appreciated the work you’ve done and the manner through which you went about doing it.

.

    Hey there! I’m also a former client of yours, and I just want to say that I am also very much satisfied with your service. You were indeed very straight to the point, and did not waste any time (or money) getting the job done. I also appreciate your discreetness, which is a sentiment apparently shared by your other clients. I may not be full of many words like your letter sender, but I still want to express my thanks for a job well done. Here’s to more clients and a better business.

    Hi! I just stumbled onto this blog while doing some research for my upcoming trip to Thailand. Although I won’t be needing your services personally (at least right now), I might know some people there—as I have a lot of friends who live in Thailand or spend a lot of time there—who might be interested in contacting you—I actually know quite a few of them whose problems fit right into the line of services you offer. I hope your services can be of help to them. Also, I find your entries very informative and I’m sure to visit again.
