Charles: Well, good for you and your friend. I suggest you bring this to his attention as soon as possible. Scams like the one I mentioned are hard to detect especially for someone who’s biased by trust and unfamiliar with the territory. Thanks for the referral!

Henry: I’m glad you appreciate my posts. That’s precisely why I keep on posting articles like these so that people have more to go, so that they’ll be better equipped for a safe stay here in Thailand. Personally, I believe that Thailand is a beautiful place to live in, but like anywhere else in the world, it’s not perfect, it has its own dark side people would rather not know about. But it does exist, and as such we need to be aware of it for our own sakes.

I’d good that you are posting stuff like this on the net and on your blog, it is really helpful to people who want to have a more real picture of what living in Thailand is like. Don’t get wrong, okay, I am not saying that Thailand is a bad place to live in. After all, I do live here. It’s just that all factors and aspects of living here should be put out there for everybody. It is for our and everybody’s good anyway. I’m sure that information like this helps expats who have no or little idea about how they can be fooled by these ingenious and clever scams. More power to you and good luck in your business.

Wow! I never knew such a thing existed, really. I so glad I got to read this blog just in time. A friend of mine is going through exactly the same thing. His girlfriend is currently trying to convince him to invest in a business venture. They met through some common acquaintances and not in some go-go bar. I’ll tell him as soon as we meet again to contact you to do some background checks on this girl. For his sake, I hope it’s really a true business proposal and not just some scam. They’ve been together for about a year and a half and bad new would be sure to devastate him. Still, I think he’s better off knowing the real score. Thanks again for the informative post!
