A dime a dozen
At first glance, the advent of private investigations firms popping up like mushrooms might look good, but in truth, it’s not as fine a trend as you might think.
.
Since Thailand does not require private investigators to procure a license or undergo any sort exam or test to establish qualifications, how are clients supposed to distinguish between a legitimate private investigator from someone who’s trying to pass himself as one? Who’s to say that the person you’re consulting with doesn’t know the first thing about investigating and doing background checks? Is he familiar with the territory? Is he discreet? Does he know what kind of questions to ask and who to talk to? Does he have the right connections?
.
It’s easy to let yourself get carried away by promises of quality work for dirt cheap prices, but we all know quality can’t be bargained with. There are people who can do the job well, and there are those who just try to copy the real thing.
.
Here at Thailand-Investigation.com, we are the real thing. I myself am a former police inv
estigator for the Belgium police force, and am thus very knowledgeable regarding the various investigative techniques that only a person with prior police experience can have. I am used to dealing with people from all walks of life; I know what kind of questions to ask; I know what kind of information is useful, and what kind of information is not. My experience with the police also has given me insight into the criminal mind—which some cases require. I am familiar with the different kinds of modus operandi by both big or small-time crooks. And through the years I’ve spent here in Thailand, I’ve established a wide network of contacts that make for more efficient and accurate results.
.
I’ve had a number of clients who have had the misfortune of picking the wrong private investigation agency, and were swayed by the ridiculously cheap price tag. But when the time came to produce results, all these agencies offered were excuses and requests for extension (which of course would entail more payment from the client).
.
There are also some who actually pretend to offer quality or high-end investigative services – they disguise themselves by offering high rates so that unsuspecting clients will think that the operation isn’t just run by some hack pretending to know what he’s doing.
.
The bottom line is to make sure that you can trust you private investigator. After all, the relationship between a client and the investigator he or she hires is based mainly on trust. While results don’t always come when or how you expect it to be, genuine PIs will always give you legitimate reasons for any unforeseen circumstance and are always willing to talk it out with you. While this is a business, we also understand that you have considerations of your own – we ourselves know that setbacks are a part of the job, and always just thinking of payment or financial remuneration will definitely distract us from the job at hand.

Hello. As a victim of unscrupulous agencies, I can really attest to the truth of what you are saying. Not anyone can do the job that private investigators do. It really pays in the end to have an agency or service you can trust. Unfortunately, I had to learn this the hard way. It’s not easy to look for a good and quality agency with all the pretenders out there. You might think that when someone offers you a rock bottom fee that you are getting a great deal, but you have to think twice before committing yourself to an agency. With all the anxiety of waiting for results and paying, it is a must that you get results, or at least be made to understand why things went wrong.

I have also been a victim of people who are using the private investigation business to cheat unsuspecting people out of their money. It’s very frustrating to always experience the failure that hiring the wrong agency brings. I’m really glad I ran into this website / blog, as I was starting to lose hope. I’ve been to five different agencies already, and they all had flimsy excuses for less than stellar results. My case is quite an urgent matter, and I am hoping to get in touch with you soon. Thank you.

Diana: It’s unfortunate that you had to experience all that. At the very least, you know what to look out for now. I’d appreciate it if you’d spread the word to your friends and associates about this information (and hopefully where you got it from).

Maxwell: Thank you for visiting my site. I’m glad for you as well that you managed to find me in time before you got victimized again. Of course, we both wished that this could have been sooner, but that’s life for you. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you very much!
