Dubious PI agencies

Dubious PI agencies

Is this guy for real?

I was approached recently by another client who was a victim of a dubious private investigation agency. After paying for a FULL SIX MONTHS of work, he got absolutely nothing in return, only vague reports, flimsy explanations and empty promises.

.

Let me explain the situation here: Since Thailand has no law or requirement for private investigation agencies and private investigators to have a licence, one can simple set up shop and call his business a “private investigation agency” himself a “private investigator”. But the sad truth is that many of these people have absolutely no idea how to conduct a proper investigation, much less have any investigation skills. Many also assume that a couple of contacts are all they need to put up a PI agency. Which is obviously very wrong.

.

Unfortunately for many clients I’ve come across through the years, they’re easily duped into enlisting the services of false agencies such as this mainly because of the dirt cheap prices they advertise. But in the end, they cannot deliver what is needed of them, or worse, they come up with many additional charges to the clients that he or she ends up paying much more than he or she originally thought.

.

The private investigation business is built on trust. Clients come in and give away sensitive information, as well as hard earned money, to an agency to help them solve a particular problem. It may be finding a missing relative, catching a cheating spouse or girlfriend, doing background checks on business partners, or any other related job. Clients are always the ones who take the first step by trusting the agency and take whoever they hire by their word alone, as there are no government standards or certifications they can turn to. So it is especially hard for clients to find out that they misplaced their trust plus dealing with the fact that their problem is still unsolved.

.

Modesty aside, I can say for sure that our agency, while not charging dirt cheap rates (but not sky high, either) can always back up our words with hard results. One example is the GPS real time tracking device, which give clients hard, tangible results. Even before, using the investigation techniques I acquired while I was still a law enforcer, the agency made many clients satisfied with the results of our investigations. We always strive to make our clients feel that they have made the right decision in trusting us not only with their money, but with their problems as well. In short, we put a premium on preserving the trust our clients give us. Fortunately, and thanks to our clients, we have slowly built up a reputation as a reliable private investigation agency. We are grateful to all the referrals our satisfied clients have given to their acquaintances and friends who have problems that need the services of a PI agency.

.

So please, even if you don’t choose us as a PI agency, at least make sure that you’re putting your trust in the right agency. Although we’ll always be happier if you did choose us.

It is so sad a fact of this world that there are many private investigation agencies that take advantage of the trust of their clients. I really appreciate the fact that there are people like you who not only give good service to clients, but also gives great advice to all the people who come to this blog. It is rare to see a service that is so comprehensive. I commend your strategy that incorporates good, sound advice and the subtle advertisement of your services. It’s really very clever, and is a win-win both for you and your readers. Truly only a legit PI agency can do such.

Victim of an unscrupulous agency here! I really got hooked by the low prices they offered. I said ‘they’ because I’ve been a victim of a hack agency more than once. Shame on me, I know. But price is really a big consideration with me, and I thought I was getting a great deal. This turned out to be a mistake, of course. I really wish I had stumbled on this blog earlier, and I probably would be spared all the trouble I had before. But it was a lesson well learned (although expensive too).

Jeremy: Thank you for passing by and your positive comments. I truly appreciate people like you who drop by and acknowledge the work we do here at Thailand Investigations. We really believe that in the long run, being honest and helpful will win us more clients. It is, as you said, a win-win situation for both us and the clients. Again, thank you!

    Julius:
I’m sorry to hear that you were victimized many times by false agencies. Their low price tags are really what draw people in, so you’re not alone in that. This is precisely why we put out a blog like this so we can inform people. Thanks for passing by!

I think you can say a hard truth. Actually they take this (Investigation agency) as a profit earning business. They start business but not have proper knowledge regarding this and clients are not satisfied for his task completed. Its hurt client trust and effects all investigation agencies. I think proper license are necessary because you have the responsibility to satisfy our clients and use proper techniques and approaches.
