A relationship gone wrong

Trust is integral in every relationship. However certain relationships do not last because one of the parties involved breaks the trust between the people involved. Sometimes this breaking of trust was intended from the very start, or sometimes simply an opportunity that was taken advantage of.
.
One of the best things you can do to ensure that you are going into a relationship where at the very least you can trust the other person – whether in a business or personal relationship – is to have a background check done. This way, you can avoid unpleasant surprises that are brought about by the person’s past. You’ll also be able to make a more informed decision if entering into a relationship with a particular person is a wise thing to do. I cannot tell you enough about how many clients I had who could have avoided a lot of trouble, financial loss and emotional pain if they only had a background check done.
.
One particular client was in a business with a supposedly ‘smooth’ and ‘knowledgeable’ person. The business did well for a couple of months, but he was shocked one day to know that the business partner had suddenly liquidated all the business assets and run away with everything.
.
Another had a domestic partner who promised that they would start a business together, and was even willing to continue the relationship even if the other would make trips abroad. He would keep sending money, and then after a few months, became suspicious of the lack of evidence that a business was being started. He found out that his partner was a notorious drug addict and had used the money to buy drugs and host drug parties when he was away at the expensive apartment they shared together. So it was a double whammy – cheated out of a lot of money, and betrayed for the sake of a drug habit.
.
It may also help if you have regular monitoring of partners, especially in a business. We are talking about hard-earned, honest money here, and you DO NOT deserve to have it just stolen and used for the wrong purposes. Sometimes the cheating is not so big scale, a little padding here, a little padding there, and while it may not hurt your business or investment, it still pays to know and be informed. Knowledge is always power, so at least you will have a better idea of how much you can trust a certain person with. This lets you take additional steps to protect your investment just in case the opportunity arises for your partner do something wrong and big.
.
You never know what a simple background check can provide. You can gain insight on the kind of personality, business history and professional savvy of another person. You’ll know whether to take a calculated risk and enter into a profitable relationship or to stay away. It’s never wrong to make sure that you’re doing the right thing and entering into a god relationship. So don’t be afraid to get a background check done on somebody.

I really am in agreement with this article, especially in the aspect of a business. Trust is a must in every business endeavour, and the best that you should do is determining whether of not the person you are going to be partnering ca be trusted. Money is slowly becoming a scarcer commodity with the global crisis and all, so there should be more established way for you to protect your investment and your money. Sometimes the person may indeed be knowledgeable, but that doesn’t mean that he or she can be trusted.

In business, it is common sense to run a background check not only on your business partner, but also on your whole staff as well, since even the lowest ranking employee can compromise the security of your business. It is worth the effort and expense to have all your people undergo a background check as it saves you a lot of trouble in the long run. Its money we are talking about here, and you had best keep the people involved in your business on a short leash. Better safe than sorry. I have always practiced this and I have been able to remove the bad weeds from the roster of my employees.

Tito64: Thank you for visiting the site. Trust is really essential in any business or personal relationship, and once that trust is broken, it’s hard to repair, and especially in business, you need to be really careful because the results of a breach of trust can be disastrous.
MarcinP: Yes, that path is also recommended. I agree with you that a background check should be done on all employees if possible, and that even the lowest ranking can destroy a business. The long term benefits of having a background check done really offset the initial effort.
