A good life gone bad

Margaret, was not, by nature, a suspicious woman. She was happy with her husband, a businessman who had been assigned to the Thailand branch of the company. The pay was good and they lived in a large condominium complex for expatriates. Their only child, a daughter, had just gone to Oxford to study law. It was a good life. A great life, for Margaret.

.

It wasn’t until a few months ago until Margaret began to notice something different about her husband. He was evasive and less jolly – for her husband was a jolly, happy man who usually had a cheerful demeanour, which was why he was well liked by his colleagues at the office.

.

She tried talking to him first, but to no ava

il. He became even more evasive, making her doubt him more. She tried following his whereabouts to discover if he might have a secret tryst with some new woman he met – after all, she was not young any longer, and while she was very good looking and fit for her age, in her head, nothing pleased a man like the flesh of a young woman. But her surveillance yielded nothing but business meetings and harmless errands. But still her intuition still pointed out the there was definitely something amiss and she had to know what it was.

.

Finally, she hired a detective agency to investigate. We found out that her husband was indeed seeing someone, although it was more of a sad, unfortunate incident than a full-blown passionate affair. You see, her husband had gotten a bit drunk in one hi

s nights out with his co-executives who had prevailed upon him to go to a high class go-go bar. He did not frequent such establishments (except for a number of times during his youth) but having said no too many times and not desiring to offend his colleagues, he said yes. When he was sufficiently drunk, one of the girls (there were three, it turned out, one for each executive) posed with him in several ‘compromising’ poses with another girl taking the pictures. Three days after that bar incident, he received a plain brown envelope that had the pictures of him and the go-go girl. A certain

amount had to be deposited, no police, of the wife would get an envelope of her own. He did as he was asked, but two weeks later, he was asked for another payment. Blackmail at its finest.

.

Margaret was happy that her husband was not cheating for her, and let go the seemingly minor fact the he got himself drunk in a go-go bar. She was distraught though, at the prospect of her husband being manipulated that way, so once again, she asked for our help. We did track down the people responsible and turned them over to the local authorities, and Margaret is back to her good and beautiful life, with her husband swearing off go-go bars forever.

.

Not all stories end this way. Margaret was lucky that her husband was not cheating on her. But had she not consulted us, the problem could have gotten much bigger than it did, and her husband would be like a puppet on string for a long time. It really pays to have dedicated professionals on the job, so that things get done quietly and efficiently.

Great telling of the story. Indeed, many stories do not have such a good ending. Mostly it is men who have committed infidelities with go-go girls, sometimes even bringing home sickness. This is really a bad trend nowadays. The same goes with men who are suffering from infidelity from their wives and girlfriends, or even in a relationship with a business partner. No one is safe now. You really have to have an agency at your disposal that is trustworthy and efficient. Good thing there are guys like you around. Good job!

I feel sad for this woman and her family. Although while I was reading the story, I was relieved to find out that her husband did not commit any big mistake. Most men would have gone much further than he did in a go-go bar. Either they would have taken a mistress or have done some things and possibly bring home sexually transmitted diseases to the wife, who would have known nothing until the symptoms of the sickness would surface and that would be one of the worst ways to receive news that your husband is sleeping around. Kudos to the team for foiling the blackmailing attempt.

Dustin: Thank s for reading it. It really was a good thing that we were able to solve the problem before it became too big. And I think this should serve as a lesson for everyone that they should always be alert and have the presence of mind to always know what they’re doing and where they are. No matter what country you’re in, there will always be somebody who is looking to take advantage of you.

Lisa S: Well, it began out as a good life that suffered a few setbacks, but doesn’t everybody go through that? But it was really fortunate for the both of them that we were able to solve the problem.
