Like a Venus Flytrap

Our previous letter sender featured in the past two posts, John Doe (obviously NOT his real name) had some very insightful information about how some people here operate.
.

He likened the whole experience to a Venus Flytrap, which according to Wikipedia is:

.

The Venus Flytrap, Dionaea muscipula, is a carnivorous plant that catches and digests animal prey—mostly insects and arachnids. Its trapping structure is formed by the terminal portion of each of the plant’s leaves and is triggered by tiny hairs on their inner surfaces. When an insect or spider crawling along the leaves contacts a hair, the trap closes if a different hair is contacted within twenty seconds of the first strike. The requirement of redundant triggering in this mechanism serves as a safeguard against a waste of energy in trapping objects with no nutritional value.

.

There you go, people. That’s exactly what these girls do to you. They scope you out and see if you’re worth it. They determine if you are a good mark / prey for them. Then and only then will they work their mojo on you – and you all the while thinking that you just me or that everything “just happened”. There is no “just happened” when it comes to these kinds of people. Like a fly caught in a trap, you keep on sucking the nectar, and you don’t know you’re in it until the jaws close and you suddenly feel the squeeze. But by then, it’s too late.

.

It is an unfortunate fact that it is fairly common for women to accede to a relationship with an expat because of money. And then there’s the chance that she might just be scamming you. Not to judge anybody – we have come across a lot of people who have had really successful relationships with local girls that are going strong until today. But the thing is, for the guys who are in it, it’s doubly hard to try to get the girl’s real intentions from the get go.

.

Which why a little background check never hurts. Since we do every investigation as discreetly as possible, if we find nothing, then you can rest easy and sleep better at night knowing that your feelings are validated by facts. If we DO find something, on the other hand, then you have the opportunity to pull out of the relationship and save yourself the trouble of at least losing whatever is you stand to lose should you have continued on.

.

The truth isn’t always easy to handle or accept, but if you are truly being scammed, then the truth will reveal itself somewhere along the way, and the longer you let it go along, then the more damage it will wreak on you. Knowing the truth at the onset of things – and not only even in a romantic / emotional relationship, but even in a professional and business one – is always the best way to go. Better safe than sorry, as the old saying goes, and you should take that to heart.

This is a very apt analogy you’ve given here. First everything seems sweet and inviting, but that the whole point of the trap because you never see it coming. They just let you think that everything’s all good and fine and when you’re lulled into complacency, the jaws just close down on you and by the time you know what’s going on, it’s already too late to do anything. Even the name of the plant is just really apt – the VENUS flytrap. These “venuses” just take advantage of you and bleed you until you’re dry.

I believe in getting the facts straight before plunging into everything – what should I expect? What don’t I know that I should? And considering the trouble this whole thing can get you into – which can be really messy, trust me – it’s really worth a simple background check. You’ll be much, much better off in the end and you won’t look like a fool. And the best part is, you can even be extra diabolical and turn the tables on these unscrupulous people.

belazuze721: Thank you for appreciating our post. We were also very amused by the similarities of how the plant operates as compared to these scam “venuses”, as you put it. A lot of guys really get into the whole “nectar” thing (however you want to interpret that last statement) and become unwitting victims.

francis bay: thanks for taking the time to read the post leave your thoughts. Not only do you stop being the fool when you know the facts, but you are also empowered by it. You make more informed and intelligent decisions instead of the stupid ones that always get you into trouble.

I heard the same story is happening in Brazil, same method of operation, girls setting up a mark and using their “charm” to milk you up.
