…and Relationship Fraud!

Many guys think that the women we are talking about here are just go-go girls who just dance on your lap and seduce you. This is not the case. In the years that we’ve been in this business, we’ve come across a lot of different kinds of scams where the perpetrators are women who at least appear to be presentable and respectable.

One scam we’ve come across is what we call a marriage / relationship scam. Subject A – who is a woman, the scam artist – seemingly runs into Subject B (who is male) at a gym or a seminar, or some other occasion. There is no seduction involved, actually – the premise is always like a budding friendship where she approaches you and casually strikes conversation, some small talk here and there, and she lets things develop from there. Many men would be impressed by her – she is not only easy on the eyes, but she is intelligent as well. But not to the point where she is intimidating. For many, it’s like a dream come true.

As time passes, the both of you get to know each other, and a romance will likely blossom. But the real catch is that all the while, she is scoping you out and assessing your capabilities as well as your finances. There is also a chance that she has researched on you before prior to your actual introduction and has discovered a few things about you such as your habits and some personality traits. She does all this with the end of enticing you to join her in a business deal. She offers to handle the bulk of the work herself, with you supposedly acting as part financier. Many guys jump at this opportunity, as many have day jobs and cannot be bother with managing a full time business.

She will act like everything is okay at the beginning – she’ll be very forthcoming about the receipts and other documents, and always has a good explanation for everything. She even brings you to a supposed office where everything is starting out – it all lends a lot of credibility to her story, and at this point, there is little reason not to doubt her all.

But here is where she does you in – after everything, she suddenly disappears without a trace. Her cell phone cannot be reached, she is not at her apartment, and the “office” you went to was only hired for a couple of weeks or a month at most. All the money you put in will be gone.

The thing to understand here is that there are women like these who plan way ahead, and who are willing to use any means necessary to get what they want. They are armed with loads of fake documents and stuff meant to deceive you. But it not something that they can hide from a good investigator, and a simple background check can dispel all the lies they’ve weaved around you. These people are dangerous because the combine their wily arts and their clever swindling techniques. So always, it is best to be sure and safe at the beginning.
